Over the worst

Well, 3 puppies survived the destruction of parvo. They are gaining weight and will be going to new homes by the end of the week. Shots and all. This is a sad experience that we had to endure but now we know better. In memory of all our pups that we lost. Thank you.

My living Nightmare
Sunday, June 03, 2007

Well, my experience this past week have been a living nightmare. At the begining of last week my family had 8 German Rottweilers puppies and a chihuahua. Friday morning my chihuahua named Ese wasn't acting himself so we thought he had eaten something that made him sick. He was an inside dog, rarely went out. By saturday afternoon, he died. We weren't sure what had happened. By monday, one of the puppies wasn't feeling good either so my husband took all the puppies to the vet to see if they caught something from Ese. Needless to say Ese had contracted Parvo~ I had never heard of this before. By the end of the day 2 puppies were down. Everyday since each puppy has gotten sick. We've lost 4 already. We've been given them IV's and the medications the vet gave us, and what we could afford. The parents of the puppies are fine thus far. The puppies that are left are in both of our bathrooms. Slowly falling further into this disease. My friend ordered Paraguard, which won't be arriving till sometime on tuesday. I don' t know if the last four will hold on till then. My puppies were 6 weeks on wednsday 5-31-07. Full bred german rottweilers. Beautiful dogs! I miss each of them. I can't stand the horrible smell, and all I could do to help is to keep cleaning it up for them. What a horrible disease. I hope they can hold on till tuesday. I've tried the bleach, the chicken broth, I just feel numb. Thank you for listening.
