hey everyone!!!! just wanted to introduce myself I have been on the boards a while even  posted feedback!! I around here am known as the thrift  queen or the trashy diva!! I have been thrifting and junking way before it became the thing to do!!!! my addiction started with 1 piece of furniture i found  curbside i call it  curb shopping my  younger daughter calls it night time garage sailing!!!!when she was lil  like 5 or so  she would ask  can we go nighttimme garage sailing mommy!!! the first thing i ever  found was an old antique secretary desk/hutch my hubby wouldn't stop so i said well i guess i will take you home and  go back i did!! and i got that hutch from thenon it  spiraled i soon knew  every neighborhood in my towns trash night   i next  found  2 old antique  mirrors  1 real decorative style  gold mirror and 1 baroque style gold mirror nothing  wrong just out on the curb  next  came dressers antique ones on a lawn there  were 4  guess how many i took?? right on all 4 painted  white distressed and added glass knobs!!! my daughter  got  2  i was made a craft one and 1 was made  for me!!!! i thrift or curb shop for all the  stuff i have started out  when    money was tight  when i was a stay home mom  for  8 years but then turned into a compulsion i can't  stand to see good  valueable things  left out i will even pick up things  to pass on or donate to the thrifts!!!!i got all my kids lil  tikes play houses that way!!!! step 2 wagon i mean NOTHING wrong  with this  stuff!!!! i furnished our old 1810  farmhouse with all my finds!!!! people never do believe me when i tell em where i got it they always say noooo way!!!! i just laugh and smile!!!!let them believe  what they want i also repurpose old chandoliers they kinds that sell for like  huge amts at the stores!!!! i did 3 in our house that way!!!! i shop thrift  for  all my kids  clothes all brand name  for next to nothing i am  told by the teachers they are the best dressed in school  and i chuckle  they have  said at one  point i must  spend a fortune in clothes  for daughter i chuckle and say nope thrift  they are amazed all this at the thrift??? guess where they shop now?? thats  right!!! i say reduce ,reuse ,and repurpose!!!!! thats my motto!!!! my hubby just shakes his head when i come home with this  stuff i decorate old  windows make hall trees outta them  coat racks from old  doors and  benches from old  bed frames!!!! i even  got my mother who would never  go to a thrift or garage sale  to go and now  she  goes even more then i do!!!! where i live there are some  good thrifts  with pricy things in there  for  cheap!!! mennonite  mcc thrifts in the  amish community are the best  sooo cheap!!!!   my house is cottage/ shabby  chic  so it all fits wonderfully
