Blog: ~~~RE Darling It~~~~~
Re Darling is a pair of people tired of just shoveling barely worn, but "not for me" clothing and items to thrift shops etc, where, if they don't meet certain criteria, they might end up somehow discarded. Since we seemed to be the neighborhood dropping off spot, we were privvy to some of the perfectly wearable ,delightful things that nolonger "wprked" for others. Re Darling was born of an evening of wine, yalk of Earth day,it's beginnings, whether it was still just Earth Day or nowEarth WEEK,MONTH???? We decided to contribute. Lovers of all things artsy crafty, creative and haters of cluttery homes, we found an outlet! RE make, in some way, large or small, the clothiing we were being given to dispose of ( and YES, PLENTY still goes to thrift and charity stores!PROMISE!)Our first "birn" was "HELLO< CUPCAKE!" pic to follow. We also take special orders:( "I've burned a hole in this skirt, can you RE make it into something else I can wear?"or in the cases of those who have had children(of any age) die BEFORE them(CHILDREN GONE TOO SOON) we will take whatever you send us of that Child gone too soon, all the info you can bear to provide us, and create a different but the same SOMETHING~ Pillow. art piece, WHO KNOWS, that you can have near you always. This is done at NO COST. Our REmade baby and children's clothing is professionially cleanred and made into something funkier, less funky, classic, pesonalized, Again, we don't know til we see it! We then sell the RE made clothing( now called "RE Darlings!" (an exclamation by a friend) and the profits after the obvious: shipping, sewing machine repairs, etc are going to The Compssionate Friends and The Epilepsy Foundation. We Will gladly pay for your to box and send us your out of style but totally usable castoffs: just email us for the postage! |
