Blog: Save a little, Live a lot!

Times are tough, and getting tougher. I'm getting along, but not prospering. With help from other thrifty and frugal souls, I hope to do better.

Are you homeless, too?

I have a feeling that a number of people who actually are, would not think of themselves as such,

If you're living with famly or friends "temporarily", you are. If you're living in your RV out of necessity, you are. And if you're living in your car, an abandoned house or building, in a doorway, or in a park -- you know you are.

There are a number of services which are available, including job placement and food services. Please don't let pride stop you from checking them out!

I'm living with a friend, originally "for just a few months", but as the job situation got worse, so did my chances of getting a home of my own again. I am entitled for food stamps, and I use them -- my friend should not have to support me, and I have paid into this system over a long life as a taxpayer, so I don't feel guilty about this.

This blog won't be about how to game the system or anything like that; it WILL be about getting your life back after adversity. Nice to meet you, and I hope we can share ways to better our lives, whether you're in my situation or not.

About Me:

Due to circumstances mostly beyond my control, I spent two years doing the "couch tour" with a friend. It was hard on that friendship, though, so I'm hoping time will heal this. I'm very lucky to have such a generous friend, others over the past couple of years haven't been as lucky. I've moved back to my "home", Los Angeles, and have a place of my own again. I'm even trying to start a home business. Things are looking up.
