Blog: Tiki's Mom

My husband, Marty, and I just adopted a shelter puppy, Lab/Pitt Bull mix, I wanted a little "foo-foo" puppy, but we both fell in love with this sweet, goofy pup. I didn't want a male, I never wanted a Pitt Bull, but Tiki 's kisses and adorable face, convinced us that we'd all be a great family. Our adult children love him, but want to undermine our goal to transform him into a "gentleman." One daughter lives with us, one wants to visit everyday, and our son who lives on the West Coast wants to visit just to play with him. My husband has already secured his spot as the "alpha male" my spot is not so secure. Reading the comments about lab/pitt mixes makes me feel a lot better about our decsion. Our best dog ever, Shannon, was a purebred Lab. She and I went to puppy school and when Tiki gets his rabies' shot, my husband says he's taking Tiki. By the way the name Tiki was my husband's idea, but it suits him. l

I just joined this site and I have posted a picture of my reason for joining.

Tiki has joined the family. Let the GAMES begin! I went into the shelter looking for a tiny, female puppy. I left with Tiki! A Lab/Pitt Bull Mix, about 10 weeks old. I could tell he was really smart, and he knew every trick in getting adopted. We fell for hhim in about 2 minutes.

All the positive postings about this mixed breed made me feel this is the place for me.
