parvo guard saved my rotts life
Sunday, August 19, 2007

On Sunday Aug 12 2007 my 6 month old rott became ill and i thought she had gotten into something. Every time i tried to get her to eat she wouldn't and when she did drink water she threw it up.  I did  not know what was going on by Monday she became very lethargic and was not moving at all. I had to make her get up and go outside and every time i did all she would is lay down. I became more worried when she kept throwing up. I ended up taking her to the vet  where the told me that she had parvo. I thought she is not showing the symptoms of parvo no blood in her throw up and no bloody diarrhea. The doctor came in with all these estimates telling me that she needed to stay in the hospital for at least 3 days at $2600.00. I just could not afford that, so i asked her how much it would be to treat her at home. The doctor then advised me that she would die if i took her home, but i had no other choice. I then asked her what it would cost to start the treatment there and then come and get her, that estimate was a lot better $424.00 so i left my poor sick rott there for 12 hours and went home to search the internet.
I came across this product called parvo guard the cost was $37.00 i thought what does she have to lose. I overnight rushed the product to my house. Tuesday morning i went to pick up my rott and they told me that she did good all night and that they still advised her to stay there. I told them i found parvo guard and they told me not to use it on her. So the nurse showed me how to use the sub Q fluids and gave me instructions on how to give her meds. Though she had not thrown up or had the bloody
diarrhea while there they told me to get ready for it.
When i got her home Tuesday she looked a little better and i did everything the vet told me to do. Then my parvo guard arrived and i started her on it right away. For 48 hours i hardly slept at all every three hours she had to be given the parvo guard. i stuck to it and it was hard there were times i was so tired i wanted to stop but i didn't. Then Wednesday morning at 1:30 AM she started throwing up i thought is this parvo guard working? I kept giving it to her and she threw up on and off till 3:30 AM, but after that she did not throw up any more. All day Wednesday she had a little more energy and with the help of her sub q liquids she did not dehydrate. At 11:30 PM i started to give her 1 tablespoon of chicken and rice and she kept it down. By Thursday she was getting her appetite back she was crying for more and more food so every hour i gave her chicken and rice  mixed with water. i finished the whole 48 hours of the parvo  guard and Friday she was back to playing and wanting to really eat. I took her Friday to the vet for a post opp. appointment and they were very surprised to see that she was better they gave her an all clear and told me that 2 other dogs that stayed there died. i told them i went against there wished and used the parvo guard and i give it all to the parvo guard for saving her life.
So i think that if i would have not started her on the parvo guard she would have died, but i gave it to her anyways and my sweet Princess is still with me. The doctor just could not grasp the fact that my rott pulled through so fast and so good, so all i have to say is thank you parvo guard!!!!
