Yup- when I see $1 Estee Lauder lipsticks, I grab them! (You can mix them with other less expensive lipsticks to make them last longer. I like a certain shade of rosy beige from - Wet N Wild!)

Good deal on the makeup that makeup is expensive here...

I have found that using Calgon water softner is Great for getting off grease on the vents over the stove, and getting off old tarnish from your silverware. Just pour a cap full in hot water and watch the magic happen. Hope this is a helpful tip

My daughter uses paper clips to make jump rings. They are super cheap and can be picked up for next to nothing at thrift shops and garage sales. They also come in many colors! (I believe they are made of nickle.) Metal crochet hooks and any size wooden dowel also works for bending them.

You should hold a title to the boat - & no one can sell with or buy it without the paperwork. Ask the DMV to find the current owner of the paperwork - Nothing can be done to the boat without it - This is even true for boats that are dispossessed or abandoned. You have to go thru legal steps before taking possession of the boat. So you have a legal case there. The boat must have gone somewhere - so find out who salvaged it & claim your property.

I took my boat to a local shop following a repair that wasn't done correctly. While in the shop they went bankrupt, owner moved all boats away.

It helps to have a regular circuit of places with good stuff. Somehow there seems to be a pattern in donations to individual thrift shops, depending upon their regular donors! For ex. the Goodwill where I got the dresses is not usually good for designer stuff (although I did get a designer handbag) & is good for utilitarian things. Whereas other thrift shops (at churches, etc. in good neighborhoods) are good for high end items on a regular basis, & lots of women's clothes. I stumbled on the $10 bag sale!

Wow sounds like you found a lot of good stuff at the thrift stores. I like the thrift stores too. We have coupon sales at the ones by us for 50 percent off purchase. That's when i usually stock up on stuff.

I like them 2 - & hubby is always talking @ gas prices - we try to group our errands & not go too far out of our way...

I can relate to what you are going through. But, I have found spending 10% on the problem and 90% on the solution helps greatly. Poo on your family, mine is the same way. When I am anxious about real life, they have better things to do.

Well, now you will find out who your real friends are. Go get them. I had a shoulder injury also, same thing. It's going to take time to heal. Once surgery is done, it's quick to recover.

Look passionately into coupons. Have you heard about those who get $300 worth of groceries and pay little. Contact them. They have garage loads of stuff, and they will be more than glad to help you with your needs. This is why they do this, they really help.

Maybe going back to one vehicle isn't a bad idea, especially with the gas prices. Talk it over, make a plan, and have fun with it. Soon this will pass, and you will look back, take a deep breath and say: "We did it!"
