I uses leftover rice in my breadfast buretos. Just mix in rice, sausage, eggs, and cheese. Rap it in a warm tortilla shells, add salsa, sour cream, or taco sauce. A real togo meal.

So they are clothes horses in your neck of the woods, too! It's always good to zero in on outlets for the sort of things they receive from their donors. I go out of my way to go to the Goodwill with the $1 rack - & love the orange Eddie Bauer hooded sweater I got a few weeks ago - it's perfect for wearing on the coat, where it gets chilly. Isn't it funny where we are all getting our "labeled" clothes?

Freeze It For Later
Monday, June 22, 2009 | By Jess

I will freeze rice for later, it is especially nice for a quick soup or casserole. I've also made fried rice. My sister, who lives in Vietnam, will cook it up with an egg and some soy sauce for breakfast in the morning.

Here is a post on ThriftyFun about leftover rice. Looks like there are some interesting idea in the feedback (Rice Cakes!)

Another way to reduce energy costs.

I actually went and bought a few surge protectors and plugged everything I could into them. At night, or when best suited, I turn off the power strip. No need to unplug everything just to plug it all back in the next day. OUR ELECTRIC BILL WENT DOWN almost $40.00. I didnt believe it until I saw it myself on MY electric bill. The surge protectors paid for themselves in the first month!

I love it...

I love reading your blog! I am also a thrift store connoisseur. I have 2 children (Boy 7 and Girl 14) they wear all of the high end fashions (GAP, Old Navy, Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Children's Place, etc) and I pay a fraction of the cost! I frequent yard sales (I live in Mississippi and yard sale season is from about March-November). We have a Goodwill outlet that sells clothing by the pound ($1.45), shoes $1.25, and purses (I have found a Prada, Vera Bradley & Lucky Brand) for $1.25. Another favorite is a Catholic Church thrift store I frequent there that I pay anywhere from .50-$2. I also like the local battered women's shelter store they have boxes up front with clothing 5/$1 (my best find there was a pair of IZOD swim trunks I paid .20 sold on E-bay for $20!! I also sell on E-bay I have made a nice side business doing that. I am shocked and amazed at what people just pitch (good and bad). I also have decorated my home (nicely I might mention) via yard sales, freecycle, thriftstores, auctions and hand me downs (I have purchased brand new, but I try to find what I need first at the places mentioned above)! I always tell my hubby even if we win the lottery I will continue to shop at thrift stores and yard sales! Keep on posting and I will keep on reading!!

Have a great treasure filled weekend!

How is that frugal and how does it fit the frugal definition. It just sounds cheap like me. Cheapskate should be my name. I am Tightwad and Frugal Tanya. You did a good job being cheap, but it isn't frugal. Sorry.
