Me Too

You are right. It's hard not to be greedy when something is really cheap or free. Oh well. My husband doesn't do thrift shopping either. I can get him to go to Habitat Restore once in a while. He likes wants to go to the big fancy furniture store. I just look at him and say "there is nothing there I want" and there really isn't...

Trimming down

Thanks for the post, unlike me my husband works out very vigorously at the gym 3-4 days a week, he used to be a professional body builder!.. until recently i had not thought to much about my self in the way of extra pounds..Until 3 people cams and asked me..Gee have you gained weight? I had and didn't think any one would notice, although i had gotten a bit of back fat and my pants were all to tight. so i started a light work out regiment. I have a bad lower back and makes it hard to do anything strenuous . Hoping for some results as we go into the new year!..Will keep ya posted TTFN

Pennies from Heaven

And Quarter and Dimes and Nickels. . . ! Kids especially (and some adults) around here throw their change on the ground and in parking lots. They just can't be bothered. I pick up change regularly from the parking lot of the local convenience/gas station here in town and in the grocery parking lot! A lot of change never makes it home to the dresser drawer or the quart jar! Go figure, Begonia

Good Buy!
Monday, December 13, 2010 | By begonia

I found our electric blankets a couple years ago. The twin came from a garage sale I helped with, and the queen from a Landsend catalog sale. They used to sell stuff to employees and one guest for 75% off. I got my queen-size electric blanket for $25. We were very fortunate.

It's great to get into a warm bed when the wind is blowing and it is below zero like it is in Wisconsin right now! We keep our house at about 56 degrees F at night and 64F during the day. The bedrooms are over the garage, and even with an insulated garage ceiling, the bedrooms are still several degrees colder than the rest of the house.
