Celery

Celery freezes great too - especially if you plan to use it in soups or other cooked items. Just chop it and freeze on a cookie sheet. Put in zip-top bags and use as needed. I do this with any extra produce rather than letting it go bad. Peppers and onions are my favorites.

Frugal

I LOVE saving $$$$, being frugal, and living as close to nature as I possibly can!

I LOVE Groupon too . . .but I LOVE BigCrumbs as well. Several years ago I stumbled on this site - it's an online shopping mall . .Vendors (all major merchandisers - Macy's, Amazon, Coldwater Creek, Ebay . .) and BigCrumbs gives you CASH back on EVEry purchase through them.

If you like to save - check them out! They credit your CC with the $$$ you've earned each month. Hubby REALLY likes that! Yes, if you join, (and purchase), I get a little 'kickback' from that as well - but if you get others to join (and purchase), you'll get kickbacks from them! Neat! I know you'll love it as much as me! Happy Shopping!

Allison, your photography is awsome too!

Here's a little shot during Fall of 2010 on our place. The red one is a dogwood planted in February about 25 years ago . .my two youngest kids still remember me ''forcing'' them to 'help'

You are so right! people don't believe it can be as easy as inexpensive Boric Acid, but it's true! They also sello Boric Acid tablets that have an extra lure put in the tablet so the roaches will be drawn to the boric acid tablets, and they think its food and they eat the tablet. Great ideas, huh?

I responded to your blog for the carmex on Nov. 9th. Just sent it again.

Boris Acid

I have also found that boric acid is great for killing roaches - I didn't think about the pile vs. "dust" point of application, tho. I have also used sticky traps to locate where the roaches are & then also applied boric acid. The stick traps will catch the roaches trying to escape, too!

Hey Pam

I read all your blogs (and enjoy them), but I don't think that I count because I'm blogging here all the time. ;-) You have a nice way of bringing the reader along with you on your shopping safaris. I'll bet you are a good letter writer, too!

On the other topic of the Carmex giveaway, I don't like to give out my name and address, so that's why I don't do many freebies on the web. (Lots of people are funny that way.) I know you're not uptight about that sort of thing because of the number of free things that you enjoy via the mail.

Anyway, please keep sharing and don't lose heart. Begonia
