Let her eat whatever and then next in the morning and make her a good pancake and bacon ,Egssthen take her to the movie and throw her a party! That might be the best brithday she ever had ever. Tomato plants in KY Sunday, July 25, 2010 | By Grandmagoofie If your tomatoes are 3 ft tall I wouldn't fertilize. If you do the plants will put all thier energy into growing more foliage instead of setting fruit. Fertilize early or not at all. I just use composted cow doodie in the whole garden when I till in the spring. Tomato plants in KY Sunday, July 25, 2010 | By rowkim58 Yes! I start to fertilize as soon as they get their first true leaves (I start 95% of all my vegetable and flower gardens from seed). I have used the Espoma tomato feed but after I ran out early in the season I've been using epsoms salt (the magnesium in it is what they love) and I also, this past month shoved a calcium tablet (that I already had) down in the soil a few inches from the stem. I read about this from one of the blogs I use (don't remember if it was this one or another). All I know is that my 30ish tomato plants are FULL of either blossoms and/or fruits. That's what "I" do. As ALWAYS....I keep it organic, especially knowing what synthetic fertilizers and pest/disease controls do to our enviornment (not just way out there in oceans or the rainforest .... but in our back yards!...our gardens!...killing our "good bugs!" etc., not to mention our health!). But definately, feed them! Occassionally when the plant has too many flowers on it I will cut/pinch off some of them (because then the fruits get all crammed in together sometimes misformation will occur....or just not a pretty tomato and also, can be difficult getting it off the vine without smooshing it). I hope this is helpful. I'm sure you'll get other people who will differ with me, and that's ok. That's why I said, that's what "I" do. That's what works for me! Good luck! Upside-down Update Saturday, July 24, 2010 | By begonia Here is some encouragement for next year. The plant on the left has already set fruit. Thanks for the comment. Begonia CROCHET RING Friday, July 23, 2010 | By Robyn Fed Here is the ring I was talking about in my post and it is my husband with it on while he is driving the car! I LIKE that idea!!! Thursday, July 22, 2010 | By Grandmagoofie That is way cool! I felt the same as you about the cost of the topsy-turvy kits. I might give it a try next year. Gives me time to snag a couple buckets from the hubby when he's not looking!:-) Plant Stand Tuesday, July 20, 2010 | By begonia Hi! Have you gotten your porch painted? It would be neat to see some pics of it finished. Thanks for the links. I liked the junk market style site the best. Begonia I understand. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 | By yoder178 I understand that you feel comfortable, that you've shared wonderful times together and that you feel it's too tough to start a new relationship and you don't think you have value that other men would admire and want. The bottom line is that at some point you will begin to resent what he's doing to you and how he makes you feel--cheap and worthless. You need to move on, honey he is not worth it, but YOU ARE! I had heard of using plastic wrap but not of storing the brush in the freezer. Thanks! Begonia Paintbrushes Monday, July 12, 2010 | By amseibel Looks wonderful. I love using recycled items and saving them from the landfill. A note on saving paintbrushes: If you need to save the brush for a few hours and don't want to have to clean it, wrap it up in plastic wrap or put it in a zip top bag and stick it in the freezer. I forgot one and left in in the freezer for about a month, but when it thawed out the paint was still good and I was able to use the brush.
