Books and Stuff

Do you have a web address for the Random House Read it Forward program? I've seen those type of books show up from time to time at library books sales and yard sales. Book stores aren't supposed to sell them, but I know of one store that lets you have them for a donation to charity. I've gotten some very interesting books that turned out to be best sellers that way! What are you reading right now?

Do you have Hospice Thrift Stores in your area? We had one open a couple of years ago in Madison, and it is one of my favorite haunts. Lots of high-quality clothing, books, and (my greatest weakness next to books) dishes and glassware. My daughter recently got two lovely pairs of heels for $7.

I had to smile about the cymbal! I found one, too! It was cracked, but it ended up being the perfect thing to keep rain out of my chicken feeder when we were building the Girls' house and they were still spending their days in the yard and their nights in the small portable coop. The rain beating on it sounded nice as well :-) Begonia

Tomatoes

I'd wait a little bit longer. Depending on the variety, tomatoes blossom and set fruit at different times. You might look up the variety in a seed catalog or on line. The number of days from planting to harvest is usually indicated in the description. Begonia

Oxygen Bleach is much more eco friendly and does a good job of cleaning mold. If you don't have a power washer, spray on the oxygen bleach (peroxide based cleaner) and let it soak as long as possible without it drying. Then scrub with a stiff brush and rinse with water hose.
