Kittens

Feed and water Queen well and she will produce enough milk for the sixth kitten! Then have her spayed so that she doesn't present you with litter after litter. You and the cat will find it less stressful--there are already enough kittens in the world. Begonia

I always donate things there. When I was there the last time, after donating I went inside and got a wonderful white wicker chair for $10.00!!!!

A happy gardener!
Monday, October 11, 2010 | By MzScarlett

Am so delighted that you will be able to have a garden next year! I LOVE to garden; and am now using my dehydrator as we speak to dry some things from my garden!
www.pioneerliving.com; www.budget101.com, www.tiphero.com; www.motherearthnews.com; are some of the sites I love; I glean all I can from articles AND readers tips; and then use whatever I can to help me! I love going to SOME of the various goodwills and thrift stores here in the area; many times you can find brand new clothing with the tags still on them, for far less than you can elsewhere. My neighbor and I find quite a few things at the Goodwill As Is store for FAR cheaper than in the stores themselves!
Keep a list of things you spend $ on; then see if you can find ways to do it cheaper; if not, you are doing well!

love some of Amazon's bargains!

What a neat posting! I have found some great buys on Amazon as well; far cheaper than I can get in my local area; some great movies for the grandkids; ones they were looking for and i was unable to find locally as they were older ones; they have an incredible selection of items don't they?

So happy you are better!

It sounds like great fun! yes, we women DO love to shop and to find great bargains! I love going to the Goodwill As Is store here in town; got 2 tops the other day for 78 cents for both of them! I'm with you with loving the REAL quality leather purses and wallets, but not having the pay the huge prices for them!

I could picture the beautiful day in my mind.
The bad times sometimes make the good times that much better.
I almost gave up on you because of the long time in-between. Thanks for the blog.

Yours truly is flattered that you are saying such nice things about me - being a Freebie Queen & all. It's a nice little hobby to have that yields benefits. I have all these free magazine subscriptions thru www.freestufftimes.com - & now I am even getting a limited free subscription to the WALL ST. JOURNAL (which I used to read when I worked in ofcs.) this, for a inveterate reader, is super. I even got a free box of Hamburger Helper last week! Altho I don't go for the food freebies much - just the free coffee samples....Oh, dear, we have been doing this for a long time & we did learn different sorts of thrifty habits from OUR mothers...It's an amazing journey. Welcome!

Soggy peppers
Sunday, October 10, 2010 | By begonia

Yes, they are soggy when you thaw them. I squeeze out the excess liquid if I am using them in stir fry (I am a person that can deal with a certain amount of softness in the peppers in fajitas and stir fries--if you aren't such a person, I would buy fresh for these entrees.) I don't use them in any recipes that depend on that fresh pepper crispness. I find that they work fine in any dish where the peppers would be cooked to softness anyway. I hope this helps you out.
