freezer meals once a week

I have broken down the once a month cooking into a few meals made every weekend and frozen for a later date! I don't have a lot of space in my very small kitchen to make such a big mess in one weekend! I made a vegetable lasagna today and froze it, freezer biscuits and froze them, cookies and froze them and a bunch of muffins as well! That took up my entire day and left me with severe dish pan hands (I don't have a dishwasher. So the idea of cooking once and eating for 30 days..is no longer possible, sorry to say.

As I have said elsewhere - it becomes a game & big bargains = a big score - It's fun coming home & look up the reg. price on the net & seeing how much you have saved.

When 1st together, my hubby hated dollar stores & thrift shops. But over the yeras he has perceived the savings & is enthusiastic about it as I am - Altho he does have a tendency for bigger tkt. items than me - but I have more small tkt. things -so it evens out! After a while, it's a game - & when you save you score ka-Ching!!

I was once a single mother and money was very tight, almost no breathing room. Welfare helped some but in the winter the bills were so painfully high, I would not be able to pay them. I have long since married and my husband also does not want to come on this journey of thrifty with me (either does my DD) but I am stubborn and refuse to pay full price for anything. Love my garden but tend to it alone, stay out of the stores for weeks on end (except for groceries) and am again not helped with this as he figures he needs something, and whether the bank acct has money in it or not, be buys it. So you know he never pays attention to the bank balance! I salute you for staying thrifty and hope your journey makes you happy!

Tell me how you do it? Are you incorporating lost leaders, such as laundry soap, and personal items, or is this just food stuff?

I buy almost ALL of my clothes at thrift shops (except for lingerie - & I get panties & even bras at the 99 Cent Store & Dollar Tree!) I usually don't spend more than $10 on any one item & as little as $1 -

Wow that is a lot of snow. You got more than we got here in Michigan.

You do seem to get good deals at the thrift store. We have some good thrift stores here that I go to in the winter. In the summer I go to yard sales a lot. Really miss them this time of the year.
